Why technical knowledge is the foundation of better service

I started my career as an architectural draftsman — a role that taught me how to understand buildings from the ground up. I learned to read structural drawings, understand construction methodology, and appreciate how a building's design directly impacts its long-term maintenance costs and resident experience.

From there, my career took me into property development and investment, where I learned first-hand how management decisions directly impact asset value and return. I came to understand that a well-managed building is not just a comfortable place to live — it is a performing financial asset that can either grow in value or be quietly degraded by poor decisions and hidden fees.

I moved into strata management and immediately recognised the gap between what owners needed and what the industry was delivering. Poor communication, unexplained fees, a lack of technical knowledge, and an absence of genuine transparency — these were systemic problems, not isolated cases.

I founded Clearview to close that gap. Every policy, every process, and every standard of service we deliver is built on the belief that owners deserve better — and that a manager who truly knows buildings, legislation, and financial stewardship can deliver a materially different outcome.
